Being a member of Brighton Mitre brings huge benefits – over and above the social side and improving yourself as a rider. Joining the club is quick and easy, and membership costs only £20 a year. Your membership is much appreciated, and helps support and develop the club and the activities it organises.
Brighton Mitre organises and participates in a variety of races throughout the year. From the Hove Park Crits to The Big Dog Race as well as “taster sessions” for novices, there is a race to suit every inclination and level of experience. We are also very lucky in Brighton to have access to the historic Preston Park track, where both road racing and track racing are on offer
Club Rides
The Club has rides throughout the year on Saturday and Sunday mornings.  Saturday rides are longer and faster and are intended for more experienced members with Sunday rides being steadier and shorter to suit the less experienced and new members.

Brighton Mitre Cycling Club

Brighton Mitre Cycling Club was founded in 1894 at the now-defunct Mitre public house in Brighton. Well into our second century, the club is still extremely active and aims to promote all aspects of competitive and leisure cycling.

We welcome new members! We cater for all fitness levels and all types of cycling.

Club rides for roadies meet at The Garden Cafe at St Ann’s Well Gardens in Hove at 8.00 for an 8.30 depart on Saturdays and 9.00 for a 9.30 depart on Sundays. On Saturdays, there is a fast-paced, structured training ride for those with racing licences or ambitions to compete, and a more steady and social ride for anyone wishing to take it a bit easier. On Sundays, there are two rides at more steady and social paces. All rides are led by club members and aim to be back in Brighton by midday. For more details on the rides, contact the club. We also organise races in the Surrey League along with the Hove Park Crits, which run for three weeks in May.

We also have an evening TT series which is a series of 10 varying time trials including hill climbs and flat and hilly TTs.
